Haryana Assembly Elections 2024: The Haryana government has announced the closure of all government and private schools on October 4 and 5, 2024, in light of the upcoming state assembly elections. Many schools will be used as polling stations, and this decision is intended to help ensure a smooth election process.
To allow enough time for the necessary preparations, schools will be closed a day before the voting takes place.District administrations have issued written orders confirming the holiday in the affected areas.
The closure is intended to ensure that polling stations are ready in advance. Voting for the Haryana Assembly elections is set for October 5, 2024, and schools will be closed from October 4 to facilitate the setup of ballot boxes, voting equipment, and security arrangements.

Additionally, the Directorate of Education, Haryana, has clarified that exams that were scheduled for October 4 have been postponed to October 9. On October 5, voters across the state are expected to exercise their democratic right, with the results set to be announced on October 8.
With a total of 90 assembly constituencies going to the polls in a single phase on October 5, voter participation is expected to be high. There are approximately 2.1 crore registered voters in Haryana, including about 9.5 lakh women and 4.52 lakh first-time voters, as per media reports.
