What is DASA?

It provides a platform for foreign nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to secure admission into undergraduate engineering programs offered by these esteemed institutions, excluding IITs.
Eligibility Criteria for DASA
Nationality: Foreign nationals, PIOs, OCIs, and NRIs are eligible to apply.
Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have completed their Class 12 (or equivalent) education from a recognized board with a minimum specified percentage in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Prescribed admission criteria for Indian nationals shall include at least two years of education, inclusive of 11th and 12th or equivalent (not beyond), in a foreign country during the last 8 years and must pass the qualifying examination abroad.
Standardized Tests: A valid JEE Main 2024 rank is mandatory for all applicants (except Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries – CIWG).
Age Limit: There’s no upper age limit for applying through DASA.
Minimum Residency Requirement: NRIs must have completed their Class 11 and 12 (or equivalent) education from a school outside India. Children of PIOs and OCIs residing outside India are not subject to this requirement.

JEE Main Ranking: Scores obtained in JEE Main 2024 are the primary criterion for selection. Applicants are ranked based on their JEE Main scores.
Choice Filling and Seat Allocation: Applicants can choose their preferred institutions and programs during the online choice filling process. Seat allocation is done based on rank, program availability, and category reservations.
Reporting and Admission: After seat allocation, shortlisted candidates must report to their designated institutes for document verification and final admission formalities.
Reservation: The number of seats reserved for this category of students in different institutions shall be nearly 15% of the total number of seats offered for admission. These shall be available in different disciplines proportionately and shall be supernumerary.
Fees
For admissions under the DASA scheme, the registration/application fee is US$ 300 and the tuition fee is US$ 8000 as per approval of the Council NITSER. Nationals of SAARC countries (except India) are eligible for a 50% tuition fee waiver provided they have passed the qualifying examination in SAARC countries. Students belonging to the Children of Indian Workers in Gulf (CIWG) category and taking admissions in the undergraduate programs of the NITs and IIEST, Shibpur under the DASA Scheme will pay a tuition fee of Rs 1,25,000 per annum.
