Bihar NEET UG Counselling 2024 Round 1 cancelled: The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has canceled the Bihar NEET UG Round 1 counselling seat allotment and issued a revised schedule for MBBS and BDS admissions under the 85% state quota. According to the new timeline, the seat allotment result for Bihar NEET UG Round 1 will be released on September 27 through the official website, bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.
This decision follows a recent Supreme Court judgment on a petition by Vichar Manch, Patna, to remove the ‘Tanti-Tantwa’ caste from the Scheduled Caste (SC) list and merge it with the ‘Pan/Sawasi’ caste in the Extremely Backward Classes (EBC) category.Candidates who are allocated seats through the revised Round 1 allotment but fail to report to their allotted college or complete document verification will be considered for automatic free exit, rendering their previous choices null and void. Even those who opted for upgradation must finish the counselling process and submit fresh choices for Round 2.
In compliance with the Supreme Court order, candidates from the Tanti-Tantwa caste who had selected the SC category in their application were given an opportunity to amend their category to EBC. A total of 30 candidates made changes accordingly. Consequently, the seat allotment result announced on August 21 has been withdrawn, and a revised allotment will be published. The updated Bihar UGMAC 2024 rank card will be available on the admission portal, where candidates can check the allotment by entering their UGMAC ID and date of birth.
