Britain to hold international investment summit on October 14 – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The United Kingdom‘s recently elected administration has announced plans to host a global investment conference on October 14, reported Retuers citing an official government statement.
The event, spearheaded by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, aims to bring together a diverse group of up to 300 industry leaders to stimulate investment in the country.
During the summit, Jonathan Reynolds, the Business Minister, is anticipated to present a compelling case to investors, emphasizing the UK’s position as a well-established trading partner. The statement suggests that Reynolds will highlight how this status will enable UK businesses to strategize for sustained investment and economic growth over the coming decade.
Having secured a resounding victory in the July 4 election, Keir Starmer’s Labour Party has taken the reins of government after a 14-year stint in opposition. The Prime Minister has made it clear that his administration’s primary focus will be on driving economic growth.
Starmer has set an ambitious target of raising the country’s overall economic growth rate to approximately 2.5 per cent annually, a figure that aligns with Britain’s pre-financial crisis average.
