The Consortium of National Law Universities has released exam day guidelines for CLAT 2025. Candidates can review these instructions on the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 is scheduled for December 1, 2024, and will be conducted in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
The Question Booklet (QB) for the undergraduate five-year integrated programme and the postgraduate one-year programme will carry a total of 120 marks. Each correct answer awards 1 mark, while incorrect answers incur a penalty of 0.25 marks. Unanswered questions will not lead to any deductions.
CLAT 2025: Exam Day Guidelines
Entry and Seating:
- Entry to the examination hall begins at 1:00 PM, and candidates must be seated by 1:30 PM.
- Late arrivals will not be allowed entry after 2:15 PM.
- Candidates cannot leave the examination hall before 4:00 PM.
Exam Duration:
- The exam duration is 2 hours.
- For PwD/SAP candidates, the exam will last 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Washroom Use:
- Washroom breaks are not permitted after the exam starts.
CLAT 2025: Mandatory Documents
Candidates must carry the following to the examination center:
- Admit card (if the photograph on the admit card is unclear, bring a self-attested photo).
- Original government-issued photo ID for identity verification.
- Original Disability Certificate (for PwD/SAP candidates).
List of acceptable documents as ID proof: Aadhaar Card (Should be updated with a contemporary photo.), Passport, PAN Card, Ration Card / PDS Photo Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License, Photo ID issued by Recognized Educational Institution, Photo Bank ATM Card, Kissan Photo Passbook, CGHS / ECHS Photo Card, Address Card having Name and Photo issued by Department of Posts, Certificate of Identity having photo issued by Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on Letterhead, Disability ID Card/handicapped Medical Certificate issued by the respective State/UT Governments/Administrations
CLAT 2025 Permitted Items in the Exam Hall
The following items are permitted inside the examination hall:
- Black or blue ballpoint pens.
- Transparent water bottle.
- Analog watch.
- Admit card and government-issued photo ID.
Note: Bags or any other personal items are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
CLAT 2025: Test timings
Candidates should note the following test day timings:
- 1:30 PM (Long Bell): Entry into the test hall will begin.
- 1:50 PM (Short Bell): Sealed envelopes will be distributed, and invigilators will announce important instructions.
- 2:00 PM (Long Bell): The test will begin, and candidates will be allowed to open the sealed envelopes.
- 2:15 PM (Short Bell): Entry into the test hall will not be permitted after this time.
- 2:30 PM (Short Bell): This will mark 30 minutes into the test.
- 3:00 PM (Short Bell): This will indicate that 1 hour of the test has been completed.
- 3:30 PM (Short Bell): This will signal that 1.5 hours of the test are complete.
- 3:50 PM (Short Bell): A warning bell will indicate that 10 minutes remain.
- 4:00 PM (Long Bell): This will mark the end of the test. Writing on the OMR sheet or question paper will not be allowed after this bell.
