GATE COAP 2025: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has announced a revision in the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) 2025 registration dates for MTech admissions to IITs, NITs, and recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) based on GATE 2025 scores. The registration for GATE COAP 2025, initially set to begin on May 13, has been deferred by one day. The revised schedule now commences on May 17, 2025.
COAP is an essential platform for GATE-qualified candidates applying for MTech programmes at prestigious institutes like IITs and IISc, as well as for PSU job opportunities. Candidates who have cleared GATE 2025, 2024, or 2023 are eligible to apply through COAP for the MTech admissions and PSU recruitment.
Revised registration schedule for GATE COAP 2025
The revised schedule for GATE COAP 2025 has shifted the Round 1 registration to May 17, 2025. In this round, candidates can view offers from participating institutes and PSUs and make decisions regarding their admissions or job selections. The decision options available include “accept and freeze,” “retain and wait,” or “reject.”
In subsequent rounds, candidates will have the option to make decisions based on the offers they receive. However, candidates cannot choose “retain and wait” more than twice for the same offer. The registration will be hosted on the official COAP website at gate.iisc.ac.in/coap2025.
The revised schedule for the initial rounds is as follows:
Round 1: May 17 (10:00 AM) to May 20 (09:00 AM)
Round 2: May 23 (10:00 AM) to May 26 (09:00 AM)
Round 3: May 29 (10:00 AM) to June 02 (09:00 AM)
Round 4: June 05 (10:00 AM) to June 08 (09:00 AM)
Round 5: June 11 (10:00 AM) to June 14 (09:00 AM)
After these rounds, from Round 6 onwards, the options will be limited to “accept and freeze” or “reject,” with no option for “retain and wait.” An additional Round 10 will be held for IITs that wish to continue the counselling process beyond Round 9.

How to select and confirm offers on COAP
Candidates can select only one offer from all the available options in each round. The decision options are:
Accept and freeze: Candidates who choose this option accept the offer and opt out of future rounds.
Retain and wait: This allows candidates to accept the current offer while keeping the option open for future offers. However, this option can only be used twice for the same offer.
Reject and wait: Candidates can reject the current offers and wait for better options in subsequent rounds.
The COAP platform aims to ensure that all MTech seats in participating institutes and jobs in PSUs are filled in a fair and transparent manner. Candidates must finalise their decisions by clicking ‘Submit’ after making their choice, as failure to do so will be treated as rejection.
