GATE 2025: Examination dates
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will conduct GATE 2025 on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.
GATE 2025: Examination details
GATE 2025 will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT). The examination will have a total of 30 papers and will be held in English only. Candidates will have the option to appear for one or two test papers from the allowed two-paper combinations.
The examination will have two sections. Section 1 will be General Aptitude, and Section 2 will be the candidate’s selected subject. There will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
Additionally, candidates’ GATE 2025 scores will remain valid for a period of three years from the date of the announcement of the results.

GATE 2025 is jointly conducted by IISc and seven IITs: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee, on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB) – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
Candidates who qualify GATE can seek admission with possible financial assistance to Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, and Humanities, as well as Doctoral programs in relevant branches of these fields, in institutions supported by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other government agencies.
