JSCC CGL 2024: #Cancel_JSSC_CGL trends as aspirants demand cancellation of Jharkhand graduate-level recruitment exam – Times of India

Cancel JSCC CGL 2024: The controversy surrounding the JSSC CGL 2024 (Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level) exam has escalated, with aspirants across Jharkhand demanding the cancellation of this year’s examination. Allegations of paper leaks and repeated questions have sparked outrage, leading to widespread protests and the #Cancel_JSSC_CGL trend on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter).
The JSSC CGL exam, which was conducted on September 21 and 22, 2024, has been marred by serious allegations of corruption and mismanagement.Aspirants allege that the examination papers were leaked, compromising the integrity of the recruitment process. Additionally, several candidates have raised concerns about questions being repeated from previous exams, further fueling the dissatisfaction.
As the accusations gained momentum, students took to social media, with many voicing their anger and frustration. X, in particular, has been flooded with posts under the hashtag #Cancel_JSSC_CGL, calling for the cancellation of the exam.
One X user, expressed the widespread belief that a significant business is profiting from these leaks: “JSSC CGL पेपर लीक में अरबों का कारोबार हुआ है इसलिए ये लोग ज़िद्द पर अड़े हैं। गरीब बच्चों की हकमारी नहीं होने देंगे। परीक्षा को रद्द करवा कर रहेंगे। तुम दलाल बोलो या गैंग पेपर लीक से ध्यान भटका नहीं सकते।”
Roughly translating to- “The JSSC CGL paper leak involves a billion-dollar racket, which is why they are so adamant. We will not allow the rights of poor students to be stolen. We will ensure the exam is canceled. Call us brokers or part of a gang, but you cannot distract us from the issue of the paper leak.”

In addition to online protests, students also organized torchlight marches across various districts of Jharkhand on Saturday, showing their collective discontent and resolve. The protestors are demanding a fair inquiry into the alleged irregularities and immediate cancellation of the examination results.
The Commission’s Response and Current Status
Following the widespread outcry, the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has been under intense scrutiny. The commission released an answer key for the exam, but the final results have been delayed due to the ongoing allegations. The JSSC has responded by giving aspirants a chance to submit evidence supporting their claims.
On October 6, 2024, the commission extended an invitation to the complainants, asking them to appear with solid proof at the JSSC office in Ranchi. The JSSC Secretary, Sudhir Gupta, emphasized that the investigation into the alleged irregularities is ongoing. In particular, the commission has requested that complainants provide original evidence, such as CDs, pen drives, and photographs—that supposedly document the leaked material. However, earlier submissions have been found empty or incomplete, delaying the investigation process.
A letter from the JSSC states, “Complainants have been asked to submit the evidence of the complaints related to irregularities in the exam and its source along with an affidavit to the commission by October 7. If this is not done, the commission will take a final decision on the basis of the current evidence.”
The notice clarified that no affidavit regarding the truthfulness of the photos and videos seen in the provided pen drives has been submitted yet, and the investigation remains incomplete due to the lack of substantial evidence.
Growing Pressure on the State Government
The pressure is now mounting on the Jharkhand state government and Chief Minister Hemant Soren to intervene in the matter. Many students and political figures are urging the government to take a stand and protect the integrity of the state’s education system.
Roughly translating to- “Honorable Chief Minister Hemant Soren must take a strict and impartial decision to save Jharkhand’s education system for the benefit of the students.”

Similarly, another aspirant tweeted, urging the government to act swiftly to avoid further injustice to the unemployed youth of the state:
“JSSC CGL की परीक्षा में बड़े पैमाने पर धांधली हुईं हैं HemantSorenJMM जी। सरकार के पास अभी भी मौक़ा है इस परीक्षा को ख़ुद रद्द करवा दीजिए, कलंक मिट जाएगा और बेरोजगार युवाओं के साथ अन्याय नहीं होगा।”
Roughly translates to- “There has been large-scale corruption in the JSSC CGL exam, Hemant Soren. The government still has a chance to cancel the exam itself, clearing this blemish and ensuring no injustice to the unemployed youth.”

As the controversy deepens, it remains uncertain what course of action the JSSC or the state government will take. The commission has given the complainants until October 7 to provide solid evidence of the irregularities. If substantial proof of the alleged paper leaks is presented, it could lead to the cancellation of the exam, as demanded by thousands of aspirants. On the other hand, if no such evidence is found, the results might be expected to be declared, amid unrest among the student community.
