THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Results of the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance examination have been published here on Thursday. As the boys swept all top slots, Devanand P of Alappuzha won the first rank and Hafiz Rehman Elikkottil of Malappuram came second. Higher education minister R Bindu announced the results at a news conference here.
The first four rank holders secured a score of 591.6145/600.Their ranks were determined as per the provisions laid out in the prospects on such occasions. The ranks were thus decided according to the marks these candidates scored in Mathematics. The third and fourth rank holders are Allen Johny Anil of Kottayam and Jorden Joy of Kottayam, respectively. A total of 87 boys found a place in the first 100 ranks in the entrance test conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) for the first time in Kerala. Druv Sumesh of Alappuzha and Abhijit lal of Iduki won the first place among SC and ST candidates by scoring 546.99 and 475.9380 scores, respectively.
As many as 79, 044 candidates appeared for the entrance test held from June 5 to 10 in a number of centres, including in New Delhi, Mumbai and Dubai. Of this, 52500 candidates ( 27524 girls, 30815 boys) cleared the entrance examination. The only transgender candidate who appeared for the examination could not find a place in the rank list.
The largest number of candidates who found a place in the rank list was from Ernakulam ( 6568). Also, the highest number of candidates to figure in the list of first 100 rank holders was also from Ernakulam (24) candidates, followed by Thiruvananthapuram(15).
A school board wise breakup of the results show that 2034 candidates among the 36390 students appeared for the examination after completing their studies in Kerala syllabus secured a place in the first 5000 ranks. Of the 14541 candidates from CBSE stream who appeared for the test, 2785 candidates are in the first 5000 list. Of the 1079 students from ISC stream, 162 candidates found place in the first 5000 ranks.
The results were declared a month after the test. Government agency C-DIT provided the technical support for the conduct of the test organised on the JEE model. Questions were prepared by experts identified by the collegiate education directorate.
