[KUALA LUMPUR] Malaysia launched the National Artificial Intelligence Office (NAIO) on Thursday (Dec 12), aimed at streamlining efforts in enhancing the country’s digital ecosystem to attract more high-value investments.
The country is looking to speed up its digital economy development, which currently contributes around 23 per cent of Malaysia’s gross domestic product, to become a regional hub for AI development.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the country has already garnered global interest in establishing AI and data centres within its borders.
