The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has activated the choice-filling link for NEET PG 2024 counselling on its official website, mcc.nic.in. According to the revised schedule, registration for Round 1 of NEET PG 2024 counselling will close on November 17. Eligible candidates are advised to select their preferred options for colleges and courses before the deadline to secure a seat in their desired institution.
The choice-filling window for NEET PG Round 1 will remain open until November 17. On the last day, choice locking will begin at 4 PM and close at 11:55 PM.

NEET PG 2024 Counselling: Steps for Choice Filling

Fresh choice filling is conducted for each round of NEET PG counselling. Candidates can follow these steps to complete the choice filling for Round 1:
Step 1: Visit the official MCC NEET PG counselling website, mcc.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the ‘NEET PG Round 1 choice filling begins on November 8’ link in the latest news section.
Step 3: Log in using your credentials, including stream (medical or dental), roll number, and password.
Step 4: Begin selecting your preferred courses and colleges in order of preference.
Step 5: Use the ‘+’ button to add new choices or drag options to rearrange your preferences.
Step 6: Review and finalize the order, then click ‘save and next’ to submit.
Note: If a candidate does not manually lock their choices, the system will automatically lock them after the deadline.
Earlier this year, the National Medical Commission (NMC) reported a 127% increase in PG medical seats since 2014, from 31,185 to 70,674. The Union Health Minister, J.P. Nadda, recently noted a 134% increase, with seats rising to 73,111. The NEET PG 2024 seat matrix for AIQ seats, central universities, and deemed universities is available on the MCC portal.

As per the NEET PG counselling schedule, seat allocation for Round 1 will take place on November 18 and 19, and the results will be announced on November 20. Selected candidates will have one week to report to their assigned colleges. Those who do not report within the stipulated period will forfeit their seats in what is called a ‘free exit.’ To confirm their seat in Round 1, candidates must pay the required tuition fees.
