This year, the NEET UG 2024 has seen a significant increase in the number of qualified candidates compared to 2023. In 2023, a total of 1,145,976 candidates qualified for the exam, whereas in 2024, this number has grown to 1,316,268, indicating a substantial rise in the total number of qualifiers.
In the UR/EWS category, the number of candidates has increased from 1,014,372 in 2023 to 1,165,904 in 2024. This category also sees an upward shift in the marks range from 720-137 to 720-164. The OBC category experiences growth as well, with the number of candidates rising from 88,592 in 2023 to 100,769 in 2024, and a marks range increase from 136-107 to 163-129.
The SC category sees an increase in the number of candidates from 29,918 in 2023 to 34,326 in 2024, along with an increased marks range from 136-107 to 163-129. Similarly, the ST category has more qualifiers, increasing from 12,437 in 2023 to 14,478 in 2024, with the marks range moving up from 136-107 to 163-129.
For the UR/EWS & PH category, the number of candidates has increased from 405 in 2023 to 455 in 2024, with a marks range shift from 136-121 to 163-146. The OBC & PH category also sees growth, with the number of candidates increasing from 179 in 2023 to 270 in 2024, and a marks range change from 120-107 to 145-129. The SC & PH category sees a slight increase in candidates from 50 in 2023 to 55 in 2024, with the marks range changing from 120-107 to 145-129.
However, the ST & PH category sees a decrease in the number of candidates from 23 in 2023 to 11 in 2024, despite the marks range increasing from 120-108 to 145-129. Overall, the data highlights a general trend of increasing competitiveness and higher qualifying marks across most categories in NEET UG 2024 compared to the previous year.
