Southern Railway has started the online registration process for the Apprentice Recruitment Exam 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can visit the official website of the railway board, i.e., sr.indianrailways.gov.in, for the registration process. As per the official notification, Southern Railway is conducting the recruitment drive for 2,438 apprentice posts.Candidates can register for the recruitment examination until August 12, 2024.

South Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2024: Steps to apply

Candidates can follow these steps to apply for the apprentice posts:
Step 1: Visit the official website of South Railways, i.e., sr.indianrailays.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link that reads, ‘Act Apprenticeship 2024-25’.
Step 3: A new page will appear on the screen.
Step 4: Click on the link that reads, ‘Click here for Apply online’.
Step 5: Click on the ‘Register’ tab and register yourself.
Step 6: After registering, click on the ‘Login’ tab.
Step 7: Login to your account and proceed to fill in the application.
Step 8: Submit all the required documents and pay the registration fee.
Step 9: Submit your application and take a printout of it for future reference.

South Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2024: Application fee

As per the official notification, candidates belonging to the General/OBC/EWS categories need to pay Rs 100 as the application fee.
There is no application fee for candidates belonging to SC/ST category. Further, female candidates and physically handicapped candidates are exempted for the fee.

South Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2024: Age limit

The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 22/24 years of freshers/Ex-ITI, MLT respectively.
The upper age is relaxable by 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 10 years for Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) candidates.

South Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2024: Who can apply

As per the official notification, candidates who live in the following geographical areas can only apply for the apprentice recruitment:

Whole state of Tamil Nadu
Whole Union Territory of Puducherry
Whole state of Kerala
Whole Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep Islands
Only two districts of Andhra Pradesh, namely, SPSR Nellore and Chitoor
Only one district of Karnataka, namely, Dakshina Kannada
