2) Methodology: Pollsters ask voters whom they voted for as they exit polling stations.
3) Sampling: A representative sample of voters from various polling stations is selected to participate in the survey.
4) Timing: Conducted on the day of the election after voters have cast their votes.
5) Publication: Exit poll results are usually published immediately after polling concludes.
6) Accuracy: They can provide a snapshot of voting patterns but are not always accurate.
7) Legal Restrictions: In India, the Election Commission bans the publication of exit polls during the voting period to avoid influencing voters.
8) Influence: Exit polls can influence public perception and political strategies.
9) Comparison with Opinion Polls: Unlike opinion polls conducted before elections, exit polls are based on actual voter behavior.
