Minimum Qualifications:
To apply for the internship, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Pursuing a PhD program with a focus on software development or other technical fields.
- Experience in software development and coding in one or more of the following languages: C/C++, Java, or Python.
- Familiarity with data structures or algorithms gained from academic or work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
According to Google’s official website, the following preferred qualifications are also needed:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in the US and available to work full-time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
- In the penultimate year of their academic program or returning to a degree program after completing the internship.
- Research experience in algorithms, architecture, artificial intelligence, compilers, databases, data mining, distributed systems, machine learning, networking, or systems.
- Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, Objective-C, Go, or similar.
- Competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
Key Responsibilities:
The internship will last 12-14 weeks and will be a paid position offering personal and professional development. As a software engineering intern, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and supporting a productive and innovative team environment, collaborating with peers, managers, and teams.
- Developing scripts to automate routine tasks.
