BENGALURU: A 57-year-old woman who had recently filed a case against a former chief minister for allegedly molesting her minor daughter inside his Bengaluru residence died of illness at a private hospital in Bengaluru Sunday. Police said the woman complained of breathlessness at her house Saturday night and was shifted to hospital immediately. There, she was put on ventilator, but didn’t respond to medical treatment.Doctors declared her dead Sunday evening.
On March 14, the woman had filed a complaint under the Pocso Act, alleging the former CM had sexually abused her 17-year-old daughter when they visited his residence on Feb 2. In her complaint, she said she had approached the ex-CM for his help in seeking justice for her minor daughter, who was earlier sexually assaulted allegedly by a relative.
The state govt later transferred the case to Criminal Investigation Department, which had taken statements of the ex-CM and subjected him to a voice-sample test.
